Electrochemical homogeneous catalyst recycling published in Science Advances!

Congrats to Stephen and Jemin for their published paper this Fall on electrochemical approaches for homogeneous catalyst recycling!

Our work was published in Science Advances, and highlights the electrochemical the separation of key platinum and palladium homogeneous catalysts used in organic synthesis and industrial chemical manufacturing. Noble metal catalysts for hydrosilylation, silane etherification, Suzuki cross-coupling, and Wacker oxidation were recycled electrochemically, with preservation of catalyst structure and turnover frequency. The work was carried out in collaboration with Prof. Alex Mironenko and Dr. Vijay Jeyaraj, with contributions from Dr. Johannes Elbert.

Our paper was highlighted by UIUC Beckman News and Chemistry World!
