Electrochemical recovery of hydrosilylation catalysts published in JACS Au!

Congrats to Jemin and Ching-Hsiu for their recently published paper detailing the recovery of hydrosilylation catalysts using a specially designed olefin ligand.

This work, published in JACS Au and highlighted by UofI news, introduces an electrochemical recycling system for a homogeneous platinum catalyst within solvent-free, nonpolar hydrosilylation media. This approach addresses key recycling challenges such as the nonconductive nature of the media and the intrinsic stability of the catalyst. The research was carried out in collaboration with Dow researchers Miao Wang and Evans Bergman through the Dow University Partnership Initiative.
